Working with a 72″ hickory stave for traditional English longbow.

Here we are working with a hickory stave and going through the process to begin knifing and rasping down the stave to bring it into rough out bow form.

 

 

 

Working with a hickory stave and discussing the shape of bow I am working toward. I am intending that this bow will be a standard English longbow. Using a rotating strategy of rasp and knife with the focus to NOT be in a rush and remove too much material and risk the failure of your bow..
